Clinton Substance Awareness & Prevention Coalition
Welcome to CSAPC!
Welcome to Clinton Substance Awareness & Prevention Coalition, commonly referred to as 'CSAPC'. Our Coalition has a special focus on the prevention of drugs, nicotine and alcohol use by youth. Our goal is to provide our youth and local community with prevention, intervention, and education about the dangers of substance use. We achieve our goal through the engagement and support of “Protective Factors” that help young people resist risky behaviors in our schools and community.

DISCOVERING A DRUG FREE COMMUNITY
At CSAPC, we envision a community free from alcohol, drugs, and other forms of substances—a place where every resident, especially our youth, can thrive in a safe and supportive environment. Through active partnerships with local law enforcement and Clinton County school districts, to engagement with young people, and initiatives to elevate community awareness, we’re committed to upholding and advancing prevention standards that protect and empower our community.
Together, we can foster a healthier, drug-free Clinton County.
Parents Are Prevention
At CSAPC, we know that parents are the first line of defense in preventing substance use among our youth. Open conversations at home and with loved ones about the dangers of alcohol, drugs, and other harmful substances play a crucial role in shaping a youth’s choices and perceptions. By setting clear expectations, listening without judgment, and providing accurate information, parents help build trust and resilience in their children. When parents actively engage and create a supportive environment, they equip their children with the knowledge and confidence to make safe, healthy decisions. Prevention begins at home, and parental guidance remains one of the strongest protective factors against the dangers of substances.
Youth Voices for Drug-Free Futures
Youth play an essential role within our Clinton County Substance Awareness and Prevention Coalition, using their voices to positively influence peers and raise community awareness about the dangers of substance use. Young leaders help spread messages of prevention and resilience, empowering their friends to make safe, healthy choices. Through school programs, community events, and social initiatives, they educate others on the risks of substance use and advocate for a safer, drug-free environment. Together, youth and the our coalition drive impactful change, creating a supportive community that values health, awareness, and prevention throughout Clinton County.
Local Partnership For Advocacy
At CSAPC, we partner with the SJ Call-In Coalition. Our partnership with the SJ Call-In Coalition significantly strengthens our prevention efforts by uniting our missions for a healthier, more inclusive Clinton County. Founded in 2020, the SJ Call-In Coalition calls on the community to celebrate differences, build meaningful relationships, and empower disenfranchised groups. By working together, we amplify our impact—addressing substance use prevention through a lens of inclusivity and resilience. This partnership enables us to reach broader audiences, fostering diversity and understanding as core elements of our community outreach. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Clinton County that prioritizes safety, well-being, and support for all.
Partnering with Our Schools to Empower Our Youth
At CSAPC, we also collaborate closely with each of our local middle and high schools to create a safe, supportive environment for students and to promote healthy, substance-free lifestyles.
Through educational programs, annual MiPHY data (Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth), workshops, and events tailored for different age groups, we work hand-in-hand with teachers, counselors, and school administrators to bring important prevention messages directly into the classroom. We also provide resources for parents, faculty, and staff, helping to equip the entire school community with the tools needed to support students in making positive choices.
By engaging youth early in partnership with the school districts, we can empower them with knowledge, strengthen their resilience to peer pressure, and encourage healthy, informed decisions.
